Julia Fiona Roberts' parents are Walter Grady Roberts and Betty Lou Bredemus. Her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer, was one of the first Roberts to settle in Atlanta. Early on, her father became interested in theater. As a college students studying at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he took part in numerous performances. When he was stationed in Biloxi in Mississippi, he was inducted into the Air Force in 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was in that production as well. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple was married in the year. Walter went to Tulane University at New Orleans In 1957, the city of Louisiana where the couple had left the Air Force of the United States. Walter began his work at Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. Walter and Betty Lou started production in 1964 for the local children's Saturday morning television program Bum Bum and His Buddies and their Buddies, which they both funded. In 1964 Walter and Betty Lou established The Actors and Writers Workshop. It lasted for six years. The couple also had two children, Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also called Lisa) and Julia Billingsley (1967) (also also known by the name Julie).
