Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th the 28th of October, 1967. Her grandfather, her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer was one of the first Roberts to arrive in Atlanta. Her father was interested in theatre at an early time. When he was a college student at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he took part in numerous performances. In 1953, he joined the Air Force, and was stationed at Biloxi in Mississippi, he appeared in a play together with Betty Lou Bredemus. The couple got married in the year 1955. Their first son, Eric Anthony, was born in 1956. Walter along with his wife left their Air Force service in the year 1957, when they enrolled Walter at Tulane University. Walter began his work at Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. Walter as well as Betty Lou began producing a children's TV show in Georgia, Decatur called Bum Bum and His Buddies. They funded the show by themselves. In the following year, they established The Actors and Writers Workshop which ran for six years. The couple also had two children. Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also named Lisa) as well as Julia Billingsley (1967) (also know by the name Julie).
